| Chimney Rock Park - is a natural attraction covering 1000 acres. On a clear day the view spans as far as Kings Mountain, seventy-five miles to the east. You can take the elevator 26 stories inside the mountain to reach the top of the Chimney and the trails. Chimney Rock Park hosts special events throughout the year, including an Easter sunrise service, an Earth Day celebration, demonstrations, and guided nature walks. Chimney Rock Park is located 14 miles east of Hendersonville in the Hickory Nut Gorge area of Rutherford County. |

| Lake Lure - is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. The lake covers over 700 acres with more than 20 miles of shoreline. Lake Lure was selected by National Geographic as one of the Ten Most Spectacular man-made lakes in the World. Lake Lure is located 14 miles east of Hendersonville. The lake offers a marina, boat tours and a sandy beach. |

| Waterfalls - There are many waterfalls in nearby state and federal parks (with no admission fee) to discover. About 40 miles outside of Asheville is Dupont State Forest, where you can take a short hike and see three waterfalls including Triple Falls, where you can picnic on a large flat rock area between the second and third waterfall. Other area “free” waterfalls include Looking Glass Falls and Linville Falls. |
